When I gave up work a few years ago I wanted to know if it was possible to make money from working online at home.
There are lots and lots of information about this but nothing that states clearly the direction to go!
For example if you do a search in Google right now you will see that most of the sites are firstly not free to join or are news articles not actually telling you anything except that so and so is making loads of money online! There are also some survey sites to join, again not free, and lots of YouTube videos showing not a lot frankly!
So you see the problem? Not a lot of information there to point you in the right direction. So you dig deeper and perhaps go to Yahoo answers or another question and answer site.
What do you find there? Plenty of questions but not really any solid answers.
Is this sounding familiar? So what do you do about it? You get sucked into parting with your money and still not getting a lot of help or guidance.
It took me a long time before I realised that making money online is something very individual. One thing might work great for someone but that does not necessarily mean it will work great for you!
I believe more and more that the type of person you are is the biggest factor in deciding whether or not you will be able to make a living online.
Put it this way. You can have all the information and help that you need but if you aren't willing to take the action and actually work at it then you just won't make money! It's as simple as that!
Perhaps you are someone who really gets into something but then looses interest. Then I don't think you'll make it online either. Sorry, but it's true.
Think about it. You have a job and work 9 to 5. You really get into it and enjoy the learning and look forward to each day. However after a few weeks you get distracted with things happening at home. The dogs gets sick, your roof starts leaking you know the sort of thing - they take up you time and attention.
Suddenly your job isn't so great, you want to sort things out at home. You can think of far more important things to be doing. So what do you do? Quit your job? No! Of course not! You can't! Well you could but then you would just need to get another to earn money to live on. So you stick with it and eventually things at home calm down and you start enjoying your job again.
I think that this is what happens with many people wanting to make money online. They begin with good intentions but then they get distracted. There is no one there to say "hey, where were you today, why didn't you show up for work?" No accountability.
So how can you make yourself accountable? You could get a mentor or coach. Or you could network with others online and give each other challenges to complete. You could ask friends and family to check that you have completed the tasks you have planned for that week.
There is no magic to internet marketing you just need to take action consistently.
